Since our beach outing on Wednesday, the students have been discovering further what it truly means to be a traveler, not a tourist. Through exploring small towns, splashing in the waters of the beaches best known to the locals, enjoying the food of the region and helping their host mothers in the kitchen, and hanging out with their Italian peers, the students are gaining a deep appreciation for Italian culture.  This evening we’ll have a farewell dinner party on the beach with all of the students and their families — we’ll enjoy each others’ company, share stories, and reflect on these unique experiences. Tomorrow, we’ll get up early and take a bus to the Dolomites, where we will embark on an exciting hiking adventure. During this time, we will have no internet access. We hope to post more updates soon.
