The Dolomites

After spending a week in Osimo for our homestay, we boarded a scenic bus ride on Sunday and headed to Northern Italy to explore the Dolomites. Even though the Swiss Alps were quite a view, the Dolomites take the cake. Reaching Madonna di Campiglio, we locked up our luggage safely in a nearby restaurant, and boarded a cable car with only our backpacks, beginning a rigorous, yet breathtaking hike to our Rifugio. The group reconnected over dinner and games, coming together after a week apart. The following morning, we split into two groups, one to hike vigorously and one to stop and smell the roses. Hiking to waterfalls and other Rifugios, the group saw the incredible views that the mountain range has to offer. The hike ended in the early afternoon, and for the rest of the day we hung out and enjoyed the impressive scenery — we found ourselves in the middle of clouds! The following day was even more exciting. While some of our group rested, the rest of the group went with two guides up and around different peaks, hiking on rocks, sliding on snow, and walking through valleys. We walked through caves and over glaciers, rounding out a fantastic day of hiking! Our trip to the Dolomites ended after our hike from the Rifugio back to the cable car to get back to Madonna di Campiglio. We took both bus and train to Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliet!) for a casual and enjoyable dinner, then took an overnight train and arrived in Paris in the early morning. Ciao to Italy, and Bonjour to France!

Stay tuned,
Cara & Terrell
