Bonjour from leaders Cara and Terrell! Paris has been a whirlwind of excitement! From captivating works of art and stunning architecture to mouthwatering macaroons and French cuisine, this has been a trip to remember. We kicked off Paris with a guided tour of Musée D’Orsay, enchanted by the breathtaking works of Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, and many other notable artists. That afternoon, we explored Montmartre and visited the famous basilica, as well as the notable Moulin Rouge windmill. We rounded off the afternoon with a memorable visit to Shakespeare & Company book store, one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite hangouts. After dinner, we visited the Eiffel Tower to enjoy the sparkling lights of the tower after dark. On Saturday, we headed to the famous Chartes Cathedral, where we had the privilege to learn from Malcolm Miller, a renowned scholar of Chartes. Next we visited Versailles and most students chose to tour the inside of the luxurious palace, while a few decided to explore the gardens and take a ride in a row boat. That night, we enjoyed a fantastic show by the Soul Rebels Brass Band, a jazz/funk/hip hop fusion, at New Morning Club. We had a lovely, relaxing Sunday, meandering down the Champs-Élysées and admiring the Arc de Triomphe, followed by a picnic in the park with some of Terrell’s French acquaintances. We had a great time playing soccer, tossing a frisbee, reading under a tree, and rowing boats. For our last day in Paris, we’ll tour the Louvre and Notre Dame.
Stay tuned!
